The Bronx is keeping up with the Kardashians.
Reality TV personality Khloe Kardashian and her rumored boyfriend, the rapper French Montana, noshed on a decadent seafood platter at City Island Lobster House Friday.
With views of the Long Island Sound, the couple feasted on a pair of 1 1/4-pound Maine lobsters, snow crab legs, dungeness crab and shrimp from the an $89.95 “Lobster House Crab and Lobster Feast,” owner Joe Joe Mandarino said.
“They were very nice people,” said Mandarino of Kardashian and Montana, who between the two of them boast a paternity scandal and a near-fatal gunshot wound, respectively. “They had a great meal outside on our deck facing the water.”
Khloe Kardashian is rumored to be dating her Friday dinner companion, rapper French Montana. Older sister and reality star Kim Kardashian is engaged and has a child with fellow rapper and 21-time Grammy winner Kanye West.
But for all the love the 15-year-old restaurant gave to the pair, who sat together at a cozy corner table away from the crowds, the polarizing reality star didn’t get a whole lot of support from other residents of the quaint fishing town.
“I hear talk about the Kardashians, but they don’t sound like my type of folks,” said Fordham St. resident Carolyn Alia. “I know some actor lives right up the street from us and he doesn’t even say hello to his neighbors.”
Locals insisted the island has always had an aversion to those from Tinseltown, which is a mere 2,800 miles away.
“I wouldn’t watch the Kardashians if you paid me,” said one local who also works in the television industry. “I like the old City Island better. It was more of a New England Village fishing town. It’s changing its tone drastically.”
Despite the displeasure among locals, Mandarino is hoping to meet another member of the Kardashian clan.
“They said they’ll be back, so I said ‘Bring mom next time.’ They said they will!”
